Breast Asymmetry

Breast asymmetry is the difference in size and / or shape of the breast. Chest begins to grow during puberty under the influence of estrogen. The shape and size of the breast should be similar during growth.

There are syndromes affecting the development of the rib cage (Poland syndrome) or there may be an abnormal form of the ribs that contributes to breast asymmetry.

Sometimes surgery is necessary to have more symmetrical breasts and to improve the quality of life and self-esteem.

Surgery for breast symmetry includes: Increasing one or both breasts, reducing one or both breasts or augmentation and breast reduction another. Mastopexy can also be used to raise one breast.
